I just finished watching Working Girl. This is the most eighties movie I have ever seen! Melanie Griffith talking stocks, the Long Island accents, and omg the hair! Just priceless. I couldn't find a clip from the movie but I did find the music video. Enjoy!

Le Confusion and The Smoking Gun

Hello peeps! Sorry it has taken me so long to post. I've been pretty busy lately getting to know Munich and living life. It's weird how I have seen more of this city over the past 4 months than I have over the past 4 years. It's been nice :). I have missed Le Blog and you guys though (well, except you people who I have been hanging out with. Actually you are to blame for me neglecting my blog. For shame [wags finger]!). How have you been?

I have also been working on my super secret project, which I finally completed tonight :D!! I will unveil it on Sunday, so stay tuned.

I was surfing the net today and started exploring TheSmokingGun.com. In addition to the gem above, they also have mug shots of Rosa Parks, Larry King and Jane Fonda, among others. It's fun if you have a couple of hours to waste.

I signed up to www.nanowrimo.org and I am totally looking forward to it! Nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It takes place in November and the aim is to write a novel and get to 50,000 words (or beyond). It has to be a brand new novel and you cannot begin prioir to Nov. 1 and cannot write beyond Nov. 30. I have decided to write a survival guide for being 26 and confused. Being 26 and quite often confused myself, I figure I should be able to write 50,000 words worth. It will be really hard since I will be gone for 10 days of the month without my computer, but that's what my moleskin is for ;).

Tomorrow I am off to Neuschwanstein, a castle near Munich. I will bring some pictures back to share with you all.

Le Princess and Kate Bush

I finally found decent-looking speakers for the iBook today. They are very mini, shiny white and simply pretty. And - best of all, they get along with my iPod Nano, which means I have the tiniest stereo in the world now. Absolutely awesome.



While I was at it, I also bought Hounds of Love by Kate Bush and B'Day from Beyonce. I love "Ring the Alarm". It is a bit aggressive, but kinda makes me want to listen to Eminem. Sometimes aggression is good as long as it's just the music. And Kate Bush is perfect for those quiet states of mind.

I discovered a really cool game today called Vera Wang Princess which tells you what kind of princess you are. I happen to be a rock & roll princess, which I am very happy with.

Le Joy of Painting

Do you know Bob Ross? He is a painter who had his own TV show where he taught people to paint landscapes, using words such as "happy little clouds" and "happy little trees". A testimonial to German TV, 12 years after the show has stopped filming, it is still aired here. I have never actually painted with him, but I simply love watching him work. It sooths me, he is always so calm. His voice is so peaceful and I get lost in his landscapes of happiness. Even though he filmed his show in the '80s, his spirit somehow embodies the hippiness of the '60s and '70s for me. Is that what everybody was like back then, just completely chilled out, never in a rush? I just finished A Lotus Grows in the Mud which is Goldie Hawn's autobiography and she describes a black out as:

"This one night became, for me, the epitome of the flower-power, peace-and-love days of the sixties. No one slept. Everybody loved each other; strangers made friends with strangers, and we have the wildest, funniest, most romantic night."

I stumble upon Bob Ross' The Joy of Painting show sometimes in the middle of the night on TV and for a stressed, sleepless mind he is a sanctuary. Have a happy little weekend.
